Initiating, facilitating and sustaining economic development
Friemersheim, a small rural village at the foot of the scenic
Outeniqua Mountains, suffers from high unemployment and poverty.
In an effort to address these needs FMPC was born and registered

sustainable economic activities that will positively impact the
lives of the people of Friemersheim.

economic activity of FMPC. Bees have always been a part of
“Gonna” refers to the original name of Friemersheim. We
believe that the indigenous people who originally lived here
was referred to as the Gonna Bushmen. They traded in ropes
made from the “Gonna” plant (passerine falcifolia). But they
also knew how to harvest honey in the wild.
